Members, roles and moderation
How people join your community, what each role can do, and how to remove, ban, report, hide and block.
This article covers how people join your community, what each role can do, and how removing, banning, reporting, hiding and blocking work. Most staff tools work on the web and in the mobile app.
How people join
People join from your community link, shown on the Community tab as aiskool.co/c/your-address. Signed-out visitors sign up first. Invite people opens a sheet with your referral link and share buttons for WhatsApp, X, Facebook, Telegram, LinkedIn, Email and Instagram.
- Free: people choose Join group and are in at once. Owners and admins get a notification.
- Paid: turn on Require payment to join under Membership & access in Settings. The button shows the price and opens Stripe Checkout. People become members after they pay.
- Approval: choose Approve each request in your settings. On the web, requests wait in the Join requests panel on Users, where you choose Approve or Decline. In the mobile app, open Manage, Members, Join requests. People see "Request sent. An admin will review it." and you approve or decline each one. This applies to free communities only.
People can only join a listed community. Keep List publicly in Discover on under Marketplace listing in Settings. Paid entry also needs connected payouts and a paid tier. See Paid tiers and getting paid with Stripe.
Roles
- Owner: everything, including billing.
- Admin: manages members, grading, the library and courses.
- Moderator: pins, hides and deletes posts, reviews reports and runs live classes.
- Member: a regular member.
You can only act on people below your rank. A moderator cannot delete an admin's post, an admin cannot remove another admin, and nobody can remove the owner. Only the owner can make an admin. To change a role on the web, open Users and use the role selector on the person's row. In the mobile app, open Manage, Members, choose the person, then Change role.
Remove or ban a member
- Open Users in the manager workspace. It lists members 60 at a time, staff first, then by name. Use the search box, or Load more.
- Find the member and choose Remove or Ban. Admins and the owner see these buttons on members below their rank.
- Confirm. For a ban you can add a reason.
Remove takes the person out, and they can rejoin. Ban also stops them rejoining or being approved. Their posts and comments stay, and a paid membership is canceled right away. There is no unban button. Moderators see "Member management is for admins and the owner." on the Users page.
Reports, hiding and deleting
Any member can report a post, comment, chat message or direct message. They pick Spam, Harassment, Inappropriate or Other. On the web, use the flag button on someone else's post or comment, or the "..." menu on a message. In the mobile app, use the "..." menu or press and hold a message. The queue does not show who reported.
Owners, admins and moderators are notified of each newly reported item. They review the queue under Manage, Reported content on the web, with Open and Resolved tabs and Dismiss, Hide, Unhide and Delete. The mobile app has the same queue under Manage, Reported content. You cannot act on content by someone of your rank or above, so ask an admin or the owner. Staff see a direct message only if one of its two people reported it.

Hide removes content from members' view but keeps it, so you can show it again. Delete is permanent, and deleting a post also deletes its comments. On the web, Discussions lets moderators pin and delete posts.
Blocking
Any member can block someone in a community. Their posts and comments disappear for the person who blocked them, neither can message the other, and the blocked person is not told. On the web, open the person's profile and choose Block. To unblock, use the same link, or Blocked people in the mobile app.
The AI host account
A published AI host has its own account, named in the AI Agent studio. It has an admin role, but it is left out of the Users list and the leaderboard, and it cannot be removed. Moderators can hide or delete its posts.
Leaving a community
Members can leave from the avatar menu inside a community. They keep their account and their other communities. Owners cannot leave. A member paying by card (Stripe) must cancel the paid membership first. A member who paid from the AISKOOL wallet can leave at once, and the wallet membership ends. Prepaid days are not refunded.
